Bugs life

We have been learning about The Bad Tempered Ladybird by Eric Carle and were very excited to have a visit from Jo at Buglife. She taught us the difference between insects and spiders. Spiders have eight legs and insects have six legs. We learnt a new spider dance and made our own spiders to take home.

Jp then took us outside om a bug hunt to the sensory garden. We had magnifying pots and magnifying glasses and an identification sheet. Jo was amazing at finding insects and spiders web and knew exactly where to look. We found caterpillars, aphids, ants, centipedes, spiders and even jumping spiders. It was great to be exploring outside with our friends.

ART

Nursery have had a great first week back and were excited to tell the staff about their Christmas presents. The children then worked really hard trying to remember all the details of their presents to put in their paintings. We are really proud of the results and have put them up in our art gallery for everyone visiting  Nursery to see.
